Motorsport: The Proving Grounds
At RMS, the journey from CAD design to a finished vehicle is not complete until it has been broken, tested, and perfected in the most demanding environments on Earth. Our motorsport program is not a separate division; it is the final and most crucial phase of our Research & Development process.
The Laboratory of Reality
Live-environment, extreme testing is paramount to the RMS philosophy. While simulations and controlled tests provide valuable data, they cannot replicate the unpredictable, brutal feedback of the real world. It is here, on the punishing tracks and treacherous trails, that our designs meet their ultimate challenge.
A Dual Discipline Approach
We commit our prototypes to two distinct and punishing disciplines to ensure every component is tested to its absolute limit:
-
Off-Road & Endurance Racing: We subject our vehicles to the grueling, body-twisting torture of rock crawling, high-speed desert runs, and multi-day endurance rallies. This tests the structural integrity of our chassis, the durability of our suspensions, the resilience of our drivetrains, and the sealing of our components against dust, water, and impact.
-
On-Track Motorcycle Testing: The nimble and unforgiving nature of motorcycle racing provides a unique feedback loop. It serves as an accelerated test bed for advanced engine management systems, transmission response, brake performance, and electronic driver aids like traction and stability control. The immediate, visceral feedback from a motorcycle allows our engineers to calibrate these complex systems with unparalleled precision before they are integrated into our 4×4 vehicles.
From Extreme to Everyday: The Engineering Payoff
The goal is not merely to win races, but to win the trust of every RMS owner. The correlation is direct:
-
A component that survives a 100-mile flat-out dash across a desert wash will effortlessly handle a lifetime of farm tracks and highway driving.
-
A braking system calibrated after enduring the repeated hard stops of a track day will provide confident, fade-free performance on a steep mountain descent.
-
An electrical system that continues to function after being submerged in a mud hole will never leave you stranded in a rainstorm.
With each environment being dramatically different, our designs must cater for as many aspects as possible. This relentless pursuit of durability and performance under extreme duress is what allows us to build vehicles with unmatched capability and reliability for your day-to-day adventures.
